Crocus flower bulbs
The flower bulbs from which the crocus grows give the best result when planted in large numbers. In clusters, they create a lovely, playful effect. Keep in mind that you need about 100 to 150 bulbs per square meter to have a beautiful carpet of crocuses in your garden in spring. That may seem like a lot, but appearances can be deceiving, as crocuses are small. Plant them deep enough in the ground, as crocus bulbs are very popular with animals like crows, magpies, and mice! Crocus bulbs are well-knownspring bloomerswho love the sun.
Funnel-shaped flowers
Crocuses are recognizable by their narrow leaves with silver-gray stripes and their bright colors, dominated by white, yellow, and blue-violet. Some crocus bulb varieties also produce softly striped flowers – beautiful! The funnel-shaped flowers grow on short stems with long, narrow leaves. Plant crocuses together, as they look best in large numbers. A field of colorful crocuses instantly brings a spring feeling to everyone! It depends somewhat on the winter, of course, but they generally bloom from February until well into March. Make sure the soil isn't too wet, as most flower bulbs don't like that.
Brighten up your garden with crocus bulbs
A distinction is made between two groups of crocuses: the botanical crocuses that bloom in spring, and the large-flowered garden crocuses. Your garden will be bursting with color early in the year if you plant crocus bulbs in time. They fit well in a rock garden or in beds with perennials, providing the first color of the year, after which the perennial flowers will take over in summer. Crocuses are early bloomers, so they shine in a bare garden under deciduous trees in spring. This familiar tuberous plant quickly reveals itself when the first spring sun appears. The calyx-shaped flowers open to catch the first rays of sunlight and close in dark weather. It's no wonder our little flower country is so popular with tourists in the spring!
