Why you want Pfingstrose Sarah Bernhardt in your garden
Paeonia Sarah Bernhardt boasts enormous, light pink, double flowers with an irresistible fragrance. It's one of the oldest peony varieties. A true classic that, with its fragrance and soft color, elevates the word elegance to a whole new level.
Peonia Sarah Bernhardt It's no wonder the peony is one of the most popular and also one of the oldest varieties. The large, double pink flowers are simply magical, and we haven't even mentioned the fragrance yet. Yet, many people assume you need a seasoned green thumb to grow peonies. Nothing could be further from the truth. To be honest, they do require a little extra attention, but with the following rules, everyone can get their peony roots blooming.
The most common mistake when planting peonies often comes down to the planting depth. Paeonia roots shouldn't be planted too deep; it's important that the visible buds on the root cutting are only covered by 1 cm of soil. Planting peonies too deep inhibits flowering of the stems, causing them to lose a lot of energy, resulting in no flowers. The green cluster of leaves on the Sarah Bernhardt peony is also very beautiful, but of course, we want the large pink flowers.
The roots of the Sarah Bernhardt peony are very sensitive and prefer to remain in the same location for their entire life. The ideal location is sunny to partially shaded, and the soil can be a bit firm, but wet feet are not recommended. If you have very heavy, moisture-retentive soil, we recommend mixing it with sand and compost to ensure good drainage.
As mentioned, peony roots are very sensitive. Keep in mind that if you move them or divide the roots, it can take one to two years for them to bloom again.
