Dahlia 'Rocco' – mini pompoms in warm purple
Dahlia 'Rocco' has small but delicate flowers with a diameter of 6cm. Its perfectly round pompom flowers aren't large, but when combined with other, often larger, dahlia varieties, they create a lovely, playful effect. The pompoms have a warm, dark purple hue, a hint of raspberry, and a plum-colored sheen.
Flowering and growth
Dahlia 'Rocco' belongs to the pompon dahlia family and produces an abundance of small, densely filled flowers. The plants grow to about 110cm tall and stand firmly on their stems. From summer until the first frost, it continues to produce new buds, especially if you regularly remove flowers.
Location and care
Plant the tubers after the last frost in loose, well-drained soil in a sunny spot. Water them extra during dry weeks. Remove spent flowers to prolong flowering and give the plant energy for new buds. In winter, dig up the tubers and store them in a frost-free place, or protect them with mulch in mild winters.
