Dahlia 'Platinum Blonde' – delicate white with a buttery yellow center
Dahlia 'Platinum Blonde' has delicate white petals with a pom-pom-shaped, soft, buttery-yellow center. A unique addition, it adds an airy touch to your border. The flowers are abundant with nectar, so on warm days, they're surrounded by the buzz of bumblebees and bees. A flower that not only brings color but also adds life to the garden.
Flowering and growth
Dahlia 'Platinum Blonde' is an anemone-flowered dahlia, a group known for its striking centers of twisted petals. Its flowers are about 12 cm across and appear from summer until the first frost. The plants grow to about 90 cm tall and bloom profusely, continually producing new flowers. This variety also thrives in pots.
Location and care
Plant the tubers after the last frost in loose, fertile soil and choose a sunny spot where they can receive plenty of light. Provide extra water during dry weeks. Regularly remove faded flowers to prolong flowering and give the plant energy for new buds. In winter, you can dig up the tubers and store them in a frost-free place, or protect them with mulch in mild winters.
