Dahlia 'Pink Silk' – pastel pink dahlia with a soft appearance
Dahlia 'Pink Silk' is a new addition to the dahlia range. The flowers have a soft pink, almost silky color that looks cool in the morning sun and a warmer pink later in the day. This subtle interplay of colors means they never look quite the same.
Flowering and growth
Dahlia 'Pink Silk' blooms from summer until the first frost, producing medium-sized flowers of about 12 cm. The plants grow to 100 cm tall and have sturdy stems, ensuring the flowers remain upright even after rain or wind. If you regularly cut flowers for vases, the plant will continually produce new buds.
Location and care
Plant the tubers only after the last frost, in a sunny spot in loose, fertile soil. During dry spells, they appreciate some extra water. Removing dead flowers will keep them blooming for months. In winter, you can dig up the tubers and store them frost-free, or protect them with a thick layer of mulch.
