Dahlia 'Peaches' – soft peach with creamy white tips
Dahlia 'Peaches' immediately appealed to me at its name, because in case you hadn't noticed, I love soft peach-colored dahlias. This is another favorite; the petals start a warm peach and gradually fade to creamy white, often ending in playful points. The color gradient is so subtle that no two flowers look the same.
Flowering and growth
Dahlia 'Peaches' blooms from early summer until the first frost. The medium-sized flowers, 12 cm in diameter, have a rounded, almost ball-shaped appearance thanks to the elegantly curled petals. The plants grow to about 100 cm tall and produce long stems, making them ideal for use as cut flowers. The more often you cut the flowers, the more new buds will appear.
Location and care
Plant the tubers after the last frost in loose, fertile soil and choose a sunny spot. During dry spells, provide some extra water to keep the plants growing well. Removing spent flowers will ensure abundant and long-lasting flowering. In winter, you can dig up the tubers and store them in a frost-free place, or protect them with a thick layer of mulch if the winter is mild.
