Dahlia 'Myrtle's Folly' – a playful cactus dahlia in warm sunset hues
Dahlia 'Myrtle's Folly' looks as if plucked straight from a tropical sunset. Her 20cm-wide flowers are filled with deeply incised petals that create a fluffy, almost fluffed appearance. The colors playfully blend: peach, coral, gold, and raspberry pink. Each flower is slightly unique, creating a new surprise every time.
Flowering and growth
Dahlia 'Myrtle's Folly' blooms from summer until the first frost and is a real eye-catcher in the border. The plants grow to about 100 cm tall and carry their large, airy flowers firmly on the stems. It's a prolific variety that continues to bloom as long as you keep cutting the flowers.
Location and care
Plant the tubers only after the last frost, preferably in sunny, fertile, and well-draining soil. During dry spells, they appreciate some extra water. Removing spent flowers gives the plant the energy to continue flowering. In winter, it's best to dig up the tubers and store them in a frost-free place, or protect them with a thick layer of mulch in mild winters.
