Dahlia 'Mister Frans' – peach-apricot colored water lily dahlia
Dahlia 'Mister Frans' is a water lily dahlia with flowers 12cm across. It comes in various shades of peach, apricot, and a touch of gold. Its upward-facing flower shape makes it a little different from most dahlias.
Flowering and growth
Dahlia 'Mister Frans' blooms profusely from early summer until the first frost. The plants grow to about 120 cm tall and bear their flowers on sturdy stems that rise well above the foliage. It's a prolific bloomer: the more often you cut the flowers, the more new buds the plant produces. Their open, flat shape makes them ideal for use as cut flowers.
Location and care
Give the tubers a spot in full sun once the risk of frost has passed. Plant them in airy, fertile soil that drains well. Regularly removing spent flowers will significantly extend the flowering period. In winter, dig up the tubers and store them in a frost-free place, or protect them with mulch during mild winters.
