Dahlia 'Mango Madness' – dinner plate dahlia in apricot and gold
Dahlia 'Mango Madness' It has enormous flowers of about 25cm and a magical color palette unmatched by any other dahlia. Colors are sometimes difficult to capture in images, so it might appear orange, but it isn't. Here's the actual color description: soft apricot, warm gold tones, and a hint of pink, with a smoky glow. In terms of flower shape, it resembles the sister of the well-known Café au Lait dahlia.
Flowering and growth
Dahlia 'Mango Madness' belongs to the Dinnerplate dahlia family and blooms from summer until the first frost. The plants grow to about 100cm tall and bear large flowers on sturdy stems. However, some extra support can be helpful, simply because the flowers are so large. The more often you cut flowers for a vase, the more new buds the plant will produce.
Location and care
Plant the corms after the last frost in fertile, well-drained soil. Choose a spot with plenty of sun; this will keep the stems strong and straight. During dry spells, they appreciate some extra water. Remove dead flowers regularly to prolong the bloom.
