Dahlia 'Mambo' – anemone-flowered dahlia in raspberry and mauve
Dahlia 'Mambo' has a unique flower shape, an anemone-shaped bloom with a playful center reminiscent of a powder brush full of color. Her flowers are about 12 cm across and display a vibrant palette of raspberry pink and mauve, becoming deeper and more intense toward the center, almost aubergine-colored. It's a starry eye.
Flowering and growth
Dahlia 'Mambo' blooms from summer until the first frost and continues to produce new flowers throughout the season. The plants grow to about 100 cm tall, making them ideal for borders and long-lasting cut flowers. The more often you cut the flowers, the more new buds will appear.
Location and care
Plant the tubers after the last frost, preferably in a sunny spot. Ensure the soil is well-drained and airy, so the roots don't stay too wet. During dry spells, some extra water is important, and removing spent flowers encourages the plant to continue flowering. In winter, it's best to remove the tubers from the ground to store them frost-free, or cover them well with a layer of mulch.
